Qantas (Qantas) confirmed that it would provide refunds to passengers affected by the new U.S. immigration ban or assist them in changing destinations, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation reported.

Last week, President Trump (Donald Trump) signed a four-month ban banning refugees from entering the United States and temporarily banning Iranian, Iraqi, Libyan, Sudanese, Somali, Syrian and Yemeni citizens from entering the United States.

The move is said to be aimed at protecting the United States from the threat of terrorism. But as a result of the ban, some passengers have been stranded or unable to fly to the United States.

Qantas said it had learned of changes in U.S. immigration policy and would try to help affected passengers.

A spokeswoman for Virgin Air Australia`s (Virgin Australia) said it has been reminding international travelers to ensure they have the documents required at the point of entry.

Liberal Senator Fillinsky (Jason Falinski) said the ban could raise concerns about dual-nationality Australians. "this policy is likely to have a negative impact on Australia, and the Australian government is bound to negotiate with the US government to try to mitigate or eliminate these effects," he said.
