According to the Daily Mail and Australian News Network, Australia foiled a terrorist attack in July last year. Four Lebanese-Australian men attempted to fly to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, in Sydney

The suicide attack on Dhabi`s flight failed because bomb`s package was too heavy to pass security checks. Two of them were arrested in Sydney. In May this year, the Lebanese military court will hold sentencing trials against several suspects, judges ready to pass the death penalty.

Khayat was arrested in Sydney on the evening of July 29 last year. They claim to have tried their brother, Tarek.

With the help of Khayat, a military-class bomb was brought on a Emirates flight on July 15, but the plan failed because the package was too heavy to pass security checks.

The fourth man, Amir (Amer Khayat), acted as an attacker and was responsible for carrying bomb onto the plane. He was arrested when he arrived in Lebanon on an Atihad flight on July 15 last year and is currently being held in a prison in Lebanon.

There were 400 passengers and crew on the targeted flight, and if the attack was successful, the consequences would be unthinkable.

It is reported that Lebanon`s military court will be on May 4 for the sentencing trial of four suspects. Judge Codib (Alaa Katib) is set to pass a death sentence of four, including three in absentia, and Amir will be the first of four to be executed.

However, because Australia does not support the death penalty, men arrested in Australia are likely not to be extradited to Lebanon.
