Authorities in Australia has asked Internet service providers to block websites that provide videos of (Christchurch) terrorist attacks in Christchurch, New Zealand, or alleged gunman announcements in Australia.

Australian cyber security commissioner Grant (Julie Inman Grant) used rights to block inappropriate content for the first time after eight malicious websites refused to delete materials related to the mosque attacks in Christchurch, New Zealand, according to Radio 7.

"We cannot allow such heinous materials to be used to promote, incite or direct further terrorism action," Grant said on Monday.

Grant is also working with social media companies and the Internet industry to develop processes that can quickly remove terrorism materials or extreme violence content in the event of a similar attack.

Grant says: "The decision to shield the web site will only be made in very special circumstances and a very high threshold condition is required. This is some of the worst edge sites, in order to ensure that the Australian residents are free from their poison."
