The global Internet speed competition, Australia is still not comparable to this African island country

According to the Daily Mail, broadband access in Australia is worse than the African island of Madagascar (Madagascar) and the Eastern European small country of Moldova, (Moldova).

It is reported that the Cable website conducted a survey of one hundred and sixty two million nine hundred and ninety nine thousand nine hundred and ninety nine broadband speed tests in 200 countries around the world. The results show that 36 of the top 50 countries with the best broadband speed performance are located in Europe, 9 in the Asia-Pacific region, and 2 in North America. Two are in South America and one is in Africa.

Singapore topped the list for two consecutive years, thanks mainly to the country`s infrastructure development and fiber-to-home applications, with 60.39 Mbps.net speeds Sweden and Denmark ranked 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Australia failed to make the top 50, ranking 52nd, but up three places from last year. The survey showed that download speeds in Australia were 11.69 Mbps, slightly higher than the 2017 7.7Mbps.

Madagascar, the African island nation, is far ahead of Australia, jumping from 67 last year to 22, the fastest-growing African country. In 2017, the country`s Internet speed was just 3.49 Mbpsbut it has now risen to 24.87 Mbps.

Moldova, a small Eastern European country, is ahead of Australia in seven places, compared with last year and defensively changed.

According to the Cable website, out of 200 countries, the average Internet speed is less than 10 Mbps.

Yemen was the worst-performing country, with a net speed of 0.31 Mbps, compared with 1 kilobarge in Singapore.
