Princess Diamond diagnosed 135 cases in a week of sea isolation

As of monday (10th day), the cruise ship "princess diamond ", which had been quarantined at sea in yokohama, japan, had diagnosed 135 new cases of coronary pneumonia. Japan`s government plans to allow the elderly and passengers with chronic diseases to leave, a cruise ship that has been quarantined as a whole, according to an insider`s report.

Japan`s government has demanded that some 3,600 passengers and crew remain on board for a two-week quarantine period before february 19th to curb the spread of new pneumonia in japan, the co-op said. But senior passengers and people with chronic illnesses could be on the wave as early as 11 a.m., the source said.

The agency said the official reason for the decision was that passengers were clearly under pressure during the long period of isolation on board. As of Wednesday, about 80 percent of the 2,666 passengers were older than 60,215 in their 80s and 11 in their 90s.

As of Monday,135 people on board had reportedly tested positive for a new type of coronavirus. The details of the identities of these individuals are not known.

There have been reports that the ship`s 14-day quarantine at sea has been called for by people on board and onshore: a viral inspection of all people on board. In response to this, japan`s chief of staff, mr. kan, responded at a journallist meeting on february 10th that the public`s concerns could be understood, but a virus check on everyone on board "is a bit difficult at the moment ".

The Diamond Princess departed from Yokohama on January 20 and arrived in Hong Kong, China, on January 25. Then to Vietnam and other places, on February 1 docked in Naha, and finally arrived in Yokohama. A Hong Kong passenger boarded the boat in Yokohama and was diagnosed with an infection after disembarking from Hong Kong. After arriving at Yokohama on the night of February 3, the cruise ship began mass quarantine, taking samples of 120 people with coughing, fever symptoms and 153 people who had been in close contact. On Friday, the Ministry of Health and Labour asked passengers and crew members without symptoms to stay on board the cruise for 14 days.
