Nearly 300 people, including an Australian woman and her 10-year-old daughter, were killed in a series of suicide-style bomb attacks in Sri Lanka on April 21 (Easter) at churches and luxury hotels.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, two Australians were killed in the attack, which has been identified as Suryala (Manik Suriaaratchi) and her daughter, Alexandra (Alexendria). They are understood to have been killed in explosion, a church in (Negombo), Negambo. The main religion in the city is Catholicism.

The United States, Japan and Portugal have also confirmed that their own citizen was killed in the incident.
