The Anglican principals of 34 schools in the new state wrote to federal lawmakers urging them to protect the exemption from the Sex Discrimination Ordinance and allow them to fire homosexual love teachers.

The Anglican principals of 34 schools in the new state wrote to federal lawmakers urging them to protect the exemption from the Sex Discrimination Ordinance and allow them to fire homosexual love teachers.

Some of the principals who signed the letter came from Sydney's most famous private schools, including Abbotsleigh,Shore and The Kings School.

The letter was sent to Prime Minister Morrison and opposition party leader Shawton.

Earlier, the ruling party decided to introduce new religious Discrimination regulations to protect homosexual love students.

The decision, made during the Wentworth by-election campaign, was triggered by a leaked report on Australia's religious protection survey by former Liberal MP Philp Ruddock.

The report recommends that legal provisions protecting religious schools that discriminate against students on the grounds of sexual orientation, gender identity or romantic status should be consistent throughout the country.

However, the October 25 letter said there was little evidence that homosexual love students or employees were discriminated against by religious schools.

"in faith-based schools, the problem now is the right to hire employees who support the idea of the school." The letter says.

The letter also details that teachers are not only educators, but also powerful mentors for young people.

"it is inappropriate for a teacher to undermine or denigrate the beliefs and teachings of an employer's school." "this is not just an employer's school, but also a legitimate idea for many parents who choose to send their children to these schools," the letter said.

The principals' letter called for the preservation of religious immunity until religious freedom was protected by law.

"the current exemption is imperfect, but the Sex Discrimination Ordinance of 1984 is really the only legal provision that protects schools from preserving their core beliefs and values." "it would be better if there were more positive rights, but these immunities should be retained until religious freedom is enshrined in the law," the letter said.

Government had hoped that a bill to stop discrimination against homosexual love students would be discussed during the last session of Parliament as an urgent matter, but Labour and Unionparty could not agree on the matter, so they were dragged into the next parliamentary meeting.

Government is also considering whether to end immunity from teachers, saying ending immunity from discrimination against students is the first priority.

Federal Education Director Dan Tehan says a balance should be struck in the protection of religious freedom.
