Western Australia`s government has announced plans to introduce an euthanasia bill to parliament next year, a voluntary legalization of death that could soon be achieved.

A panel of 11 experts chaired by former Western Australian Governor Michael (Malcolm McCusker) will assist in drafting the euthanasia bill, Radio 7 reported.

Earlier, a Western Australian Parliament survey found that voluntary euthanasia should be an option for people suffering from "irreversible" suffering from progressive end-stage, chronic or neurodegenerative diseases.

Both parties in Western Australia say lawmakers can vote in conscience.

It is understood that the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry on the issue received 700 submissions, held 81 public hearings. Members of the inquiry committee are members of the Labour Party, the Liberal Party, the Green Party and the National Party.

The commission recommends that residents of Western Australia must be at least 18 years old if they are eligible for voluntary death assistance. Moreover, medical professionals should not be forced to participate in voluntary death assistance activities.
