China's armed police stand guard in front of a poster south of the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on May 22.

The U.S. government warned that the law enforcement risk of arbitrary detention in China has increased, and the U.S. citizen should be more careful in China.

According to a Reuters report, the US State Department issued a warning to US citizens in China on Saturday (11th) that the risk of China's wanton law enforcement against foreigners has increased, including wanton detention and prohibition of exit.

The State Department noted that "the United States citizen may be detain, and can not obtain the services of the United States Consul or information on their accusation crimes ". For reasons related to national security, the United States citizen may be subjected to "prolonged interrogation and detention ".

The State Department warned that "security personnel may be detain or expelled from the United States for sending private electronic messages critical of Chinese government ". The State Council did not provide specific examples, nor did it disclose the specific reasons for issuing security warnings.

Reuters said the United States and China have recently issued a visa ban against other officials. The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Wednesday that similar warnings issued by Australia about China's risk of wanton detain were untrue.
