Interior Minister Dudon (Peter Dutton) was exposed by three ministers who proposed a cut in immigration and lobbied on the matter. In an interview with the Australian newspaper last night, Prime Minister Tam Po (Malcolm Turnbull) strongly denied the authenticity of the reports, and his comments were inconsistent with the statements made by the three ministers.

According to the Australian newspaper, the three ministers attended a meeting last year at which Dutton proposed a reduction in immigration, but the proposal was rejected.

It is understood that Dutton is proposing to cut 20, 000 new immigrants, hoping to reduce the number of immigrants government plans to accept from 190000 to 170000.

One of the ministers said the meeting was held in Sydney in early 2017, and Duden raised the issue of immigration cuts in front of other ministers.

The Australian newspaper also learned that in March 2017, the Expenditure Review Committee (expenditure review committee) and the National Security Council (national security committee) also held a joint meeting. Whether to maintain the target of receiving 190000 new immigrants has been set as a matter of discussion at this meeting.

However, at a press conference yesterday, when Prime Minister Tam Po was asked if du Dun had lobbied for reducing the number of immigrants, he hit back at the Australian newspaper reporter, saying: "the Australian newspaper today about immigration. The front page report of cabinet affairs is completely false and false. This is completely untrue. "

Asked again if he lobbied for immigration cuts and whether the reports were false, Mr Tan said: "this article, what it says is false, that`s all, okay? That`s it! This is false, relevant journalists should consider the reliability of the source of information. "

A spokesman for Tan Bao also responded last night: "there has never been a proposal submitted to the Cabinet or Cabinet Committee to lower the ceiling of 190000 skilled immigrants."

But earlier yesterday, Dutton`s statement via his Twitter (Twitter) account did not deny the reports. However, he said: "in recent weeks, I have clearly expressed support for the current level of immigration. The Prime Minister and I have repeatedly said that, as with the previous Unionparty government, we will maintain the same proportion of new immigrants, both skilled and unskilled. Our immigration plan is in the national interest. "
