According to a 20-year plan for the modernization of a $3 billion special force, the elite troops will be better equipped and trained to cope with the terrorism and other threat.

According to a 20-year plan for the modernization of a $3 billion special force, the elite troops will be better equipped and trained to cope with the terrorism and other threat.

According to the Messenger Post, Australian special forces will implement the largest reform plan, Project GREYFIN, including the Airborne Secret Service (SAS) and the first strike regiment, and provide cutting-edge equipment to elite soldiers.

The plan will provide better weapons, bulletproof vests, parachuting and climbing equipment, and strengthen training in medical search and rescue, communications and response to terrorism.

According to Morrison (Morrison Government) government`s plan, A $500m in the first phase will be invested over the next four years.

"Australian special forces are carrying out complex and demanding operations in high-risk environments. Global threat will continue to evolve. These funds will ensure that our special forces have cutting-edge military forces ahead of those who may be threat Australian interests," authorities said.

It is understood that the Australian Ministry of Defense (Defence) is still reviewing the types of equipment purchased, will tender for procurement at that time.

Prime Minister Morrison will travel to Tuvaluan on Wednesday to attend the (Pacific Island Forum) meeting of the Pacific Islands Forum. Although climate change will be the main topic of the meeting, it will also discuss maritime security and Australia`s strategic role in the Pacific.
