Mr. morrison (Scott Morrison), the prime minister, said friday that a preliminary pilot program for some foreign students to come to australia might be launched next month. The education minister, iron cold (Dan Tehan), today revealed more details about the program.

Iron Cold confirmed this morning that government are considering some new pilot projects that will first bring students to South Australia and the capital territory.

He stressed :" Foreign students (for Australia) have brought $40 billion in export revenue, so we should do this. Details are currently being collated. "

He added, however, that each pilot project would require a minimum two-week isolation period, and that the cost of the separation would be borne by the university.

Prior to that, Morrison pledged after Friday`s National Cabinet meeting that international students would be able to come to Australia under "strictly controlled conditions ", but only for pre-approved programs for specific institutions. The relevant plan is initiated at the earliest or next month.

He noted, however, that such students would be accepted "only if appropriate isolation arrangements were in place and biosafety was guaranteed ".

Morrison also acknowledged, in particular, the efforts made by the Capital Territory government :" We have received proposals from the states, and in particular Canberra, on how to achieve this goal, which I believe are well thought out. "

He also indicated that states and territories would not be able to accept international students if they continued to exercise border control over other Australians.

Bal (Andrew Barr), chief director of the capital`s territory, responded by saying the territory was in a favorable position to control the first foreign students.

A number of universities in the capital territory also welcomed the progress of the pilot project.

Mr. Schmidt (Brian Schmidt), president of Australia`s National University (Australian National University), said he expected students to return to Canberra. "I miss them so much. and they leave the city and the campus where they live, leave the communities for which they make a significant contribution, which is difficult for them. "

"We focus on maintaining the security of the society in the capital and on ensuring the well-being of our students in the transition to school. "

The President of the University of Canberra (University of Canberra), Richard Nixon (Paddy Nixon), also said :" We miss all our international students and the dynamism they have injected into our closely integrated community at the University of Canberra. Without them, the campus is no longer the same. "

In the face of China`s early warning to study in Australia, Nixon also claimed that Canberra is one of the safest cities in the world and is in the safest country in the world.

Since the outbreak of the new crown epidemic, Australian colleges and universities have suffered a serious loss of income, the number of students at full expense of the decline is one of the reasons.

The Australian National University has admitted a gap of $225 million. Canberra also said it had lost $33 million in 2020.

Mr. Jackson (Catriona Jackson), chief executive of Australian University union, stressed that international students would be the key to boosting business and creating jobs. "This pilot scheme is an important first step in the larger return of our cherished international friends. "
