According to the Australian version of the < Sing Tao Daily >, the new light rail project in Sydney has been in trouble again recently, with subcontractors destroying one of a group of A $500000 sculptures by Chinese artists in (Sydney Chinatown), Chinatown. The Sydney City Council is seeking compensation from the provincial government, which is holding subcontractors responsible for their mistakes.

Australian Chinese artist Lindy Lee was commissioned by the City Council five years ago to create a group of works spread across Chinatown, with a total value of A $ five hundred thousand. One of the damaged works was erected on Thomas Street in Sydney Chinatown.

A Sydney City Council spokesman confirmed the damage to the work: the work could have been carefully removed but was "exhumed" during the project. The spokesman said a letter had been sent to the New South Wales Department of Transport hoping to repair the damaged sculpture.

The new Sydney LRT, 24 kilometers long, runs through the city centre and east side, starting from the circular wharf (Circular Quay) at the northern end of the city center, through Chinatown at the south end, and then into the east side, with Kingsford, at one end of the stop at (Moore Park) in Moore park Another at Randwick, however, has been controversial since the start of construction in 2015.
