A burning spire of the Paris Virgin Mary House will be rebuilt as it is. French President Emmanuel Macron made a decision Thursday to restore the former Paris Virgin Mary House in 2024,15 months after fire swept through the church.

The Elysee Palace announced Thursday night that after a meeting of elected members and experts convened by the National Heritage and Construction Commission (CNPA), Macron approved a plan proposed by chief architect Philip Villeneuve (Philippe Villeneuve) for the restoration of the Virgin Mary courtyard spire, which advocates the restoration of the burning spire as it stood and the restoration of the church.

After Virgin Mary fire, Macron proposed a modern-style minarets for the Virgin Mary. Macron's proposals inspired many architects, even glass minarets.

Architects Verunov, who insisted on rebuilding the minarets in the Viollet-le-Duc Gothic style of the 19th century, said his plan would guarantee that the minarets would be rebuilt within five years as Macron hoped.

The French National Heritage and Construction Commission unanimously approved the programme after a four-hour discussion.

Prior to this, France's new cultural minister Bashello said that the burning of the Paris Virgin Mary minarets according to the original reconstruction has achieved "broad consensus ."

A fire broke out at the Paris Virgin Mary House on April 15 last year. The whole building was badly damaged, most of the top was burned, and the spire collapsed. Macron expressed the hope that it would take five years to rebuild the Paris Virgin Mary House and restore its former glory in 2024 in anticipation of the Paris Olympics.
