In response to a new round of power outages in South Australia, Federal Energy Secretary Josh (Josh Frydenberg) called on the state to do everything possible to address power shortages and, if necessary, resume operation of power plants.

February 8, in the outdoor temperature as high as 42 degrees, 40, 000 families in Adelaide suffered a power outage. Secretary Josh said the stability of power supplies had been weakened by the previous reliance on renewable energy by the South Australian Labour Party's goverment.

The state's goverment must review and stabilize existing power supply capacity and, if it fails to solve the real problem, there is a need to restart power plants such as (Port Augusta), the port of Augustus, which was shut down in May 2016 and partially dismantled.
