A 63-year-old man was burned to death after an electric ride broke out in the western city of Jeloton in (Geraldton). Witnesses at the scene were alarmed.

Yesterday afternoon, a tragic incident took place on the (Spalding Park) sidewalk in Jeroton Sberdeen Park, Western Australia, according to Radio 9. The fire quickly engulfed an electric scooter, suspected to have caught fire due to a battery failure.

Police officer Jeremy Ashworth-Preece Press said a number of people at the time heard cries for help from the 63-year-old and made an emergency call for help. Two cyclists came forward to try to rescue them, but were forced to retreat by the fire.

Firefighters and emergency workers rushed to the scene, but the old man died.

Police also said the scene was extremely tragic and would provide psychological counselling to emergency workers and witnesses.
