Do you remember the meteorite that crossed the night sky?

So far, astronomers have estimated that meteorites landed about 400 kilometers south of Adelaide.

The meteor from Adelaide found it! NASA: The meteorite is as big as a car when it strikes the atmosphere!

It is estimated that meteorites weigh between 20 and 40 tons and are as big as cars.

Falling at a speed of about 40000 kilometers per hour, the total impact energy is 1.6 kilotons.

By contrast, explosion`s nuclear bomb over Hiroshima is 15, 000 tons. The explosion rate of fireball in South Australia is 10% of that in Hiroshima.

Although meteorites fall to pieces during landing, astronomers say it can be dangerous if they fall in populated areas.

"if this is above Adelaide, you will see the number of death. I don`t want to be here for alarmist, it`s just its reality."

A NASA center that studies asteroids and meteors has also collected data.

The meteorite landing site is a fairly large blue-green spot on the sensor`s report map.

But by NASA`s standards, this special meteor is not big and is estimated to be the size of a fist when it falls to the ground.
