Liu Shouxiang, a famous Chinese watercolor artist and professor at the Hubei Academy of Fine Arts, died at 53am on Thursday at the age of 62 of new pneumonia at Wuhan Jinyintan Hospital.
Born in April 1958, Liu Shouxiang, a native of Wuhan, Hubei Province, graduated from the Department of Fine Arts of Hubei Academy of Art in 1981, and stayed in school to teach, is the head of Hubei watercolor painting teaching, has served as the head of the Department of Fine Arts Education, the first head of the Department of Watercolor painting, retired in 2018.
Besides, he is also deputy director of the Watercolor Art Committee of the Chinese Artists Association and director of the Watercolor Art Committee of the Hubei Artists Association.
He is a famous watercolor painter who has published five albums and won many awards for his works. Many works are collected by China Art Museum, Shanghai Art Museum, Shenzhen Art Museum and other units.
According to Hubei University, Liu Shouxiang in the illness, in the college under the active coordination of timely hospitalization, transfer to hospital treatment, but due to the sudden turn of the disease, rescue invalid leave.
