The Sydney rental market appears to be cooling, but an online ad for a shared bedroom proved it might be just an illusion, according to Channel 7.

On Tuesday, a rental ad appeared on Facebook, a social networking platform, asking if anyone would like to live in a two-bedroom apartment on the (Haymarket) market for A $180 a week.

However, the tenant needs to share a bedroom with three other people, in addition to the apartment has four other roommates.

The advertising woman confirmed that the landlord charged a total of A $1440 a week for eight tenants.

She said she had lived in the apartment for many years and, despite sleeping in a bunk bed, the apartment was perfect. She even said the mattress in the bunk bed was comfortable.

The lack of space and privacy did not bother her. She also points out that the building where the apartment is located has a gym and swimming pool, which is an additional benefit.

The median rent for apartments in the Jubilee Market is A $840, according to real estate website Realestate.

It is reported that this is not the first Sydney rental advertising for such reasons cause concern. A woman had previously advertised for a small room in Bondi (Bondi), asking A $200 a week for rent.
