He also forwarded the letter to the President of the Senate and the leader of the Federal opposition party.

Professor Kelly said parliament meetings would pose a "huge risk" to congressman and senator, their staff, as well as to parliament staff and to a wide range of communities in the capital territory.

government can't ignore this suggestion, Morrison said.

"parliament meeting to exclude a state's councillor is neither feasible nor desirable ," he said in a statement Saturday. "

The federal opposition party leader, Anthony Albanese, has accepted Prime Minister Morrison's request to cancel the next parliament meeting on the grounds of fear of Coronavirus contagion, but remains disappointed that government can thus avoid being questioned.
