According to the Daily Telegraph, which supermarket in Aldi,Woolworths or Coles is the best value for money? Recently, MoneysaverHQ compared the lowest price of 12 kinds of groceries in supermarkets, and found that Aldi is the most cost-effective supermarket in Australia.
The groceries include 1 liter of milk, a dozen eggs, high quality meat stuffing, chicken breasts, bread, cauliflower, bananas, peppers, tomatoes, bagged rice and spaghetti, and a piece of cheese.
Figures show that white bread and spaghetti prices in three supermarkets are the same. Aldi and Woolworths rice price juxtaposed, Woolworths high-quality meat stuffing price highest.
The results are in line with those of consumer group Choice, which Choice said in its 2015 and 2017 surveys that Aldi is the best-priced supermarket of its kind.
Choice speaker Rachel Clemons says that because Aldi reduces management costs, including no bags, minimal customer service, and so on, it can offer lower prices, and the food range is not wide, so many people only buy basic items at Aldi. The rest are bought at other supermarkets.
She pointed out that even Woolworths and Coles promotions, prices are not Aldi discount, about 9 percent higher.
