Police are calling on insider to provide information as a cyclist in Sydney was knocked down by a van while riding at Centennial Park on Friday morning.

Eddie trained with a group of Ironman triathlon athletes at Centennial Park around 7 a.m., when a white van swung out of a parking space and quickly entered the bike lane and crashed into Eddie. He had a fracture of the clavicle and a broken ligament, and a deep wound to his forehead.

After hitting Eddie, the van stopped for a while, but the driver did not leave the vehicle and then left the scene of the accident. Suddenly, no one was able to see the license plate.

"the van stopped for a while, so we thought the driver would go out, but then they drove away," Eddie said.

"before the van came out, everyone else managed to move out."

"No one saw the license plate because they were helping me get off the road."

Eddie was then taken to hospital by ambulance and underwent collarbone surgery on Saturday.

"I`m out of the hospital now, and the doctor says everything`s going well," Eddie said.

As of release, police had not identified the perpetrators, and Eddie said he would submit a written report to the police.
