Australian Prime Minister Morrison was thrown eggs by an protest during the Albury campaign on Tuesday.
A young woman threw an egg at Morrison while she was talking to a group of rural women`s associations (Country Women`s Association). Police say the prime minister flashed the attack and was not hit by the egg. It was understood that the egg was not even broken and was later found nearby.
Security officers quickly took the young woman away. An old woman was knocked down in the scuffle and Morrison picked her up.
Shortly after the incident, Morrison tweeted that in the "Albury incident" he was concerned only with "the old lady who was knocked down." "I helped her and gave her a hug."
A new state police officer, speaker, said a 25-year-old woman was detain "after a collision between Albury and the prime minister."
She was arrested after "throwing an egg at the Prime Minister during a rural women`s association event at the Albury Recreation Centre."
"the egg didn`t hit the prime minister, but it hit another woman attending. No one was reported to have been injured."
In response to the egg incident, Morrison also tweeted: "our farmers have to endure these idiots who invade farms and homes."
"whether it`s cowardly activists who don`t respect anyone, or radical unionists who obstruct small businesses and their employees at work, we will never back down."
Morrison is expected to continue campaigning in Victoria`s township areas, including the Indi district that Unionparty wants to win again, where independent councillor McGowan (Cathy McGowan) is retiring.
Morrison also thanked the Australian Federal Police (AFP) team that protected him: "they did a good job."
