Adelaide Asian driver drives into CBD pedestrian street!

As friends living in Adelaide know, Adelaide is a relatively peaceful city,

But on Saturday (July 7), the scene really scared a lot of people, almost thought that Ade would be a terrorist attack.

On Saturday evening, a 23-year-old drunk driver was charged with driving into a busy pedestrian street in central Adelaide.

On Saturday night, a man drove a silver SUV into downtown Adelaide's Leigh Street, and was stopped by a quick-reacting passer-by, according to reports.

The Croydon Park driver, allegedly drunk at the time, was arrested for drunken driving, dangerous driving and driving without a license after breaking into the pedestrian street.

According to South Australia Police, the man's blood alcohol test results were 0.153.

The man was revoked for 12 months with immediate effect and will appear before trial at a later date.

Police believe that the driver chose to take a shortcut to Leigh Street. in order to avoid the busy traffic in Hindley St in downtown Adelaide

Witnesses said they thought Adelaide was going to have a terrorist attack!

People who saw the incident po what they saw on social media.

"it was disturbing that the driver was driving into the pedestrian street," said one man. "he seemed to want to knock everyone down, then hit the street table and gas heater, and then speeded up into the tree in the opposite direction."

"fortunately, no one was hurt," said another woman.

The man's car was then towed off the scene and detained for 28 days.

The police confirmed that no one was injured.

A police spokesman said the police are grateful to the public for their prompt action and assistance in the matter.
