According to the Herald Sun, (Queen Victoria Market), the Queen Victoria Market in Melbourne, is gaining popularity among overseas tourists, and nearly half of those who come to Victoria list it as a destination.

In addition, the number of tourists from Taiwan grew the fastest, up 31.7% since last year.

45.8% of all overseas visitors to Victoria will come to the market.

The survey also found that the Queen Victoria Market welcomed 1.5 million Australian tourists, eight hundred and fifty thousand of whom came from other states.

Liakos (Stan Liacos), chief executive of Queen Victoria Markets, said it was considered one of the best fresh food markets in the world. The findings show that its popularity as a tourist attraction among tourists is rising. He noted that the market is a place for tourists to experience Melbourne's famous fresh food, shopping culture, passionate communities and bustling urban atmosphere.
