Blackbutt Nature Reserve is located in the western suburb of Newcastle, NSW's second largest city, about 5 km from Newcastle.
Blackbutt Nature Reserve covers an area of about 182 hectares, covered by dense rainforests, with picnic barbecue facilities, wooden walkways and children's playgrounds, a morning run, weekend picnic or a good place to watch animals, where koala and turkey can be seen.
