Introduction

Old Mill's South Perth, in (Swan River), Swan River, is just 1 kilometer from Perth Zoo (Perth Zoo), just across the river from King's Park (Kings Park). Old Mill is one of Perth's most unique historical landmarks, originally intended to grind flour. Built on the Swan River by William Schenton (William Shenton) in 1835. This was the main instrument for settlement by the early colonists. It was built of stone and covered with plaster and lime powder. Its simple lines and thick walls were fortified like fortresses.

The milling of flour was terminated in 1859 and was diversified in use, namely, picnics, homes, wine salons and poultry farms. To preserve the monument, in 1932 the government listed it as a leisure reserve. In 1957, it was leased to a private company and restored to a collection of antiques. The Old Mill, provides a general picture of the living conditions of the early colonists.
