Introduction

Mount Larcom is located on the western outskirts of Gladstone, a seaport town on the east coast of Queensland, about 25 kilometers from Gladstone.

The towering and distinctive Mount Larcom, 632 meters above sea level, is formed by volcanic eruptions and looks northwest from most of Gladstone to see the charming peaks of Mount Larcom. Matthew Flinders (Matthew Flinders) discovered the mountain area while exploring (Port Curtis) in Curtis Harbor and named after his boss, Warrant Officer (Captain Larcom). Because it looks like a male lion and a lioness, it is often referred to as the "lion rock (The Lion Mountain)" or "the sleeping behemoth (The Sleeping Giant)."

Ordinary people can also try to climb the top of the Mount Larcom peak (Mount Larcom Peak), preferably in cooler months, suggesting getting up early to capture the most beautiful scenery, some of which are steeper on foot and climbing. Young children are not advised to try and there are no restrooms on the road. It takes about two hours to climb one-way, and the top prize is an excellent 360-degree view of the Gladstone area, the vast countryside and the harbour, and on a sunny day, You can also see coral reefs in the east and Rockhampton (Rockhampton). In the north.
