Introduction

Russell Falls is located on the eastern border of Mount Field National Park in the southern mountains of Tasmania, about 70 kilometers from the Tarbarart, the capital of Tasmania.

Russell Falls was discovered in 1856 and was originally named Brownings Falls. It was renamed in 1884, when Russell Falls has become a popular tourist attraction; in 1885 the area around the waterfall was set to The reserve, the first nature reserve in Tasmania; in 1899, photos of Russell Falls were selected as stamps to promote the tourism industry that was evolving at the time.

Russell Falls is a cascade waterfall with a total drop of 34-58 meters. The scenery around the waterfall is beautiful. From the parking lot, walk about 500 meters along the paved road to reach the foot of the waterfall. It is recommended to wear sneakers and raincoats to avoid being splashed by the waterfall. The water is wet.

The three waterfalls of Russell Falls, Horseshoe Falls and Lady Barron Falls are not far away, with walking time of 20 minutes, 30 minutes and 2 hours.
