Introduction

Low Isles is located in the (Coral Sea) Sea of the Coral Sea northeast of Queensland's northeast coast town of Port Douglas. It is about 15 kilometers from mainland and is part of the Great Barrier Reef (Great Barrier Reef).

Low Isles is actually made up of two adjacent coral islands, Low Isles (Low Island), which covers an area of 0.02 square kilometers, and (Woody Island), Woody Island, which covers an area of 6.2 square kilometers, and the two islands are independent of each other. But they share the same coral reef, (Low Islands Reef).

The waters around Low Isles are home to 150 different hard corals, but the most striking are 15 soft corals, if viewed at close range. Soft corals are often seen using feathery antennae to collect tiny food particles from surrounding waters; Corals live in large numbers of fish, mollusks, sea cucumbers and other animals; Blue, green, purple and other colorful long-headed fish are a common scenery here, but also can see fairy fish, small tropical fish, clown fish, stone head fish, puffer fish, fine scales, crescent fish and winterfish, and so on, countless; In addition, there will be a chance to see the turtles who live here.

The lighthouse on Low Isles was completed in 1878 and opened to the public. The 18-meter lighthouse, originally constructed of wooden structures, has been listed on Australia's National Historic Heritage list. In 1928, the world's first scientific station on the Great Barrier Reef was founded in Low Isles, when the island was used as base for a year-long scientific survey to study the structure and ecology of surrounding reefs. This is the first scientific research on coral reefs in the world. Many modern theories of coral reef ecology are based on the results of this expedition.

At Low Isles's observatory, beautiful corals and tropical fish can be seen under the sea, and, Low Isles is surrounded by a circle of white sand, as if embroidered with a layer of white lace. Low Isles is full of green trees, while walking in it, the air is fresh and fresh, plus the Low Isles scenery is beautiful, so the process of walking is also a process of reading romance.
