Introduction

Fremantle Prison coastal town of fremantle (Fremantle) on the southern outskirts of Perth, the capital of western australia.

Fremantle Prison was the earliest prison in Western Australia and the largest building built by prisoners, built in 1850 and closed in 1991. Today, as a historical heritage, prisons also serve as galleries, museums and convention centres.
