Introduction

Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park is located in western Tasmania, bordering 4463.42 square kilometers with lullaby Mount St. Clair National Park (Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park) to the north. It is part of the world's cultural and natural heritage assessed by UNESCO as part of (Tasmanian Wilderness), the Tasmanian wasteland.

Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park is named after two rivers in the park: the Franklin River, (Franklin River), and the Gordon River, (Gordon River). The park's main and well-known topographical feature is the 1446-meter elevation of the French hat (Frenchmans Cap), a mountain that resembles a French beret and is covered with ice and snow in winter, for rock climbers and hiking enthusiasts. It is a rather challenging mountain peak.
