Introduction

Australian Golfing Museum is located in Bausville (Bothwell), a small inland town in central Tasmania, founded in 1996 by Australian Golf Champion Peter Towwood (Peter Toogood).

Bausville is said to have the oldest golf course in the Southern Hemisphere, Australian Golfing Museum, located in an ancient sandstone historic building in the area, telling people about the evolution of golf. How golf changed from the original rough game to an elegant international sport in the southeastern coastal villages of England and became Australia's most popular sport. The exhibition in the museum proves why the historic Bausville area has become Australia's earliest golf course, and the nearby (Ratho) Golf course is recognized as Australia's oldest golf course.
