Tessellated Pavement is located in the north of Tasman Peninsula (Tasman Peninsula) east of Tasmanian capital Horbart, about 76 kilometers from downtown Hobart, next to the Eagle Neck Gorge (Eaglehawk Neck) connecting Tasman Peninsula and Tasmanian Island.
Tessellated Pavement is a strange feature of the island, these natural scour of the formation of crisscross stone seam, from a distance like a rectangular formation of flat chess, and hence the name. Tessellated Pavement is a natural phenomenon and is a rare erosion geomorphology formed during the fracture of crustal pressurized water diagenesis. As water diagenesis dries up at low tide, salt crystals form on the surface. Under the influence of salt crystals, the ground appeared a seam, that is, the rectangular block landform we see now. Visitors to Tasmania will come here to see the magical boardwalk, standing on the boardwalk to see the vast sea scenery.
