John Forrest National Park, east of Perth, the capital of Western Australia, is about 25km from downtown Perth and covers 26.78 sq km. John Forrest National Park, one of Australia's oldest nature reserves and the earliest established national park in Western Australia, sits in Darling Ranges. Visitors can enjoy bushwalking, mountain biking and swimming in rock pools. Hikers can try the rugged trails in the park, or follow the abandoned train path, looking for tranquil pools and magnificent waterfalls in the mountains.
