Introduction

The Simpson Desert (Simpson Desert) is located in the driest part of central Australia on the borders of South Australia, the Northern Territory and Queensland, and covers about 176500 square kilometers, equivalent to 3/4 of the UK's territory.

The dunes of the Simpson Desert stretch for hundreds of kilometers, with towering peaks and vast flat valleys or depressions extending unremittingly toward the horizon, such a large-scale sprawling landscape that inspires the complex mood that has accumulated in the hearts of tourists. Some visitors are shocked by the endless desert, while others marvel at the changing environment.

The part of the Simpson Desert in South Australia is divided into three protected areas: the Simpson Desert Reserve Park, (Simpson Desert Conservation Park), Simpson Desert Reserve, (Simpson Desert Regional Reserve), and Virginia National Park, (Witjira National Park).

The Simpson Desert Reserve Park, which covers an area of 6903.87 square kilometers, is home to a wide variety of desert animals and plants in a diverse system of sand dunes with a wide range of coastal lakes, grasslands and acacia woodlands.

Note: only four-drive cars have access to the Simpson Desert Reserve Park. In addition to being in the wilderness, be sure to prepare adequate facilities in advance and plan enough routes to avoid danger to yourself.

Simpson Desert Reserve Park closes every summer, visitors need to buy Desert Park pass (Desert Parks Pass), address: https://www.environment.sa.gov.au/parks/entry-fees/parks-passes/desert-parks-pass.
