Introduction

Mount Kaputar National Park is located in the interior of New South Wales, about 35 kilometers from the small town of Narrabri and covers an area of 368.17 square kilometers.

Mount Kaputar National Park has a wide range of biological communities, including semi-arid woodlands, subalpine deserts and eucalyptus forests, and provides habitat for a range of wildlife. (Mount Kaputar) is the core and highest point of the National Park, 1510 meters above sea level. At the top of the hill, the Capata Peak View platform (Mt Kaputar Summit Lookout), has a spectacular 360-degree corner-free view, with about 10% of NSW's land visible when the sky is clear. The Kapata Peak viewing platform can be reached directly by car.

In addition, the pipe oracle (Sawn Rocks) at the northern entrance to Mount Kaputar National Park is a major attraction, similar to the massive basaltic rocks of the organ, which emerged from volcanic movements tens of millions of years ago, and then long-standing weathering and spalling to form what they are now. Note that both the Organ Stone and the Capata Peak viewing platform belong to Mount Kaputar National Park, but on two separate roads, from Narrabri, after going to the Kapata Peak viewing platform, they must return to their original path, and then take the other way to Pipe Organ Stone.
