Archibald Fountain is located in (Hyde Park) Hyde Park in downtown Sydney, New South Wales, across from St. Mary's Cathedral (St Mary's Cathedral) across from (College St) College Street.
Archibald Fountain, the symbol of Hyde Park, is considered Australia's most beautiful public fountain art. The fountain is made up of a group of bronze sculptures, high in the middle by a teenager holding an ancient organ and a fan-shaped water spray mouth behind it. There are also groups of bronze sculptures in the pool.
Archibald Fountain is named after the donor, J.F. Archibald, editor-in-chief of The Bulletin magazine, who stipulates that the designer must be a French artist, in part because he loves French culture. On the other hand, to commemorate the ties between Australia and France during World War I, he hoped that Sydney would be inspired by the city's design and decoration in Paris. The artist he chose was Fran ç ois-L é on Sicard), and the fountain was inspired by ancient Greek and Roman architecture and art. Archibald Fountain was completed in Paris in 1926 and opened in Hyde Park on March 14, 1932.
Archibald Fountain is also one of the best locations to photograph St. Mary's Cathedral and Sydney Tower (Sydney Tower).
