Introduction

Francois Peron National Park is in Shark Bay, Western Australia's World Heritage Site, about 825km from Perth, the capital of Western Australia, and about 5km from Denham, the main town of Shark Bay.

Francois Peron National Park, covering an area of 525.87 sq km, is known for its golden sea cliffs, pristine white sandy beaches, saltwater lakes and rare marsupials. Named after French naturalist and explorer Francois Peron, the National Park made two scientific expeditions to this remote part of Western Australia in 1801 and 1803, where Aboriginals had lived for more than 26,000 years before his arrival.

Francois Peron National Park is a paradise for famous four-drive drivers, with only four-drive access in most areas, and the wild natural landscape brings unlimited challenges and stunning views to the self-driving journey.
