Bay of Fires is located in the northeast of Tasmania, this section of the beach south from the harbour village of Benalon Bay (Binalong Bay), north to Ansense Bay (Ansons Bay), stretching 29 kilometers. Bay of Fires is not a single bay, but a series of fine white sand beach, many people call the tasmanian best beach.
When british captain tobias fellno (Captain Tobias Furneaux) saw smoke from native Kunnara Kuna tribes in 1773, he mistook the stone for fire, Bay of Fires hence his name. Red rock and white sand beach are the signs here, the white sand is as fine as stepping on flour, and the surrounding rocks and headlands are full of iconic orange-red lichens, shining in the sun like being burned by fire. More interesting is the natural formation of the lagoon here, the water is very shallow, children can play in it. The water is clear and blue from far to near.
