Cape Du Couedic Lighthouse is located in Flinders Chase National Park (Flinders Chase National Park), south of Kangaroo Island (Kangaroo Island), adjacent to the flagship arch (Admirals Arch).
Cape Du Couedic Lighthouse is one of the two lighthouses in flinders chase national park, and the other is the borda cape lighthouse at the northwest end of the national park (Cape Borda Lighthouse).
Cape Du Couedic Lighthouse is located at the southwest end of Kangaroo Island (Cape Du Couedic), about 15 kilometers south from the tourist center of the National Park along the only road, so it is nicknamed "the ends of the earth lighthouse" by Chinese tourists.
Built between 1906 and 1909, the Cape Du Couedic Lighthouse consists of a stone tower 25 meters high and three bungalows for lighthouse keepers and their families. The top of the lighthouse is red, and the observation room is made of 360 degree transparent glass. The appearance is very lovely. Because of its remoteness, it had always been inaccessible until the road was repaired, and people, goods and materials could only be transported by boat, and then suspended from the cliffs of the sea through the winch system.
Cape Du Couedic Lighthouse was originally powered by kerosene, converted to acetylene gas in 1957 and automated rather than manual operations, then switched to electricity in 1974. Today Cape Du Couedic Lighthouse are still working to provide light guidance for ships, while buildings such as administrators house and stables were included in the South Australian historical heritage list, while public accommodation was open to visitors to book on the website of Flinders Chase National Park.
