Introduction

Museum of the Goldfields is located in Kalgoorlie., a gold mine town in the south of Western Australia.

Museum of the Goldfields's building was built in 1899 and operated as a hotel for about 25 years, until 1963, when it was used as a hostel and, after a few years of vacant space, was transformed into a museum today in 1968.

Museum of the Goldfields has an impressive array of exhibits where visitors can visit underground vaults of gold, cash and jewelry that have been preserved in large quantities. You can also take a glass elevator to the (Ivanhoe) Derrick-panoramic view of the city of Kalgoorlie- Boulder.
