Introduction

Jenolan Caves is located in (Central Tablelands region) Kanangra Boyd National Park, central Heights, New South Wales (western tip of Kanangra-Boyd National Park)), about 175km from Sydney, the capital of New South Wales, and about 25km from Oberland (Oberon)., the nearest town.

The stalactite cave is mainly the result of long-term dissolution of groundwater in lime strata, and the cave has an average history of hundreds of millions of years. If the water dripping into the cave grows downward, it becomes stalactite; if it drips to the bottom of the cave and then condenses upward, it forms stalagmites again; finally, it is connected and integrated up and down to become a pillar of stone.

Jenolan Caves is located on the edge of (Blue Mountains) in Blue Mountain Scenic spot, hidden in the rugged wilderness, is one of the earliest caves discovered in the world, is also the oldest open underground cave system in the world, full of stalactite limestone abyss, mixed with animal fossils and underground rivers, a variety of different growth conditions are complex and intertwined, which constitutes a variety of magnificent and strange landscapes of amazing nature.

Jenolan Caves has identified a total length of more than 40 kilometers and nearly 300 entrances, 11 of which are renovated and open to ordinary tourists, who can carry out cave exploration under the guidance of professional tour guides. The magical underground world attracts more than 250000 visitors a year, making it one of the most popular tourist attractions in New South Wales.

In 2004, Jenolan Caves was added to the Australian National Heritage list.
