Introduction

Lake Hillier, also known as Pink Lake, is one of the two largest pink lakes in Western Australia, and the other is (Hutt Lagoon)., a Hert lagoon on the northwest coast of Perth.

The magical lake, located in the (Recherche Archipelago, Islands on the southern coast of Western Australia, also known as the north of (Middle Island), the largest island on the South Coast of Bay of Isles), covers an area of about 15 hectares and was discovered by British navigators in 1802.

Lake Hillier is a saltwater lake. When the salinity of the lake increases, halophilic algae (such as Dunaliella Salina) multiply and produce β-carotene, making the lake unique pink. The color of the lake is not always pink, but change varies with salinity, showing different tones from light green to crimson.

Lake Hillier, located on the island, is currently unable to board the island directly and has the option of flying from the Western Australian city of Esperance to the central island by helicopter for about 30 minutes.
