Brisbane River

Introduction of Brisbane River

Brisbane River is an important river that flows through the city centre of Brisbane and enters the sea at (Moreton Bay) in Morton Bay. Brisbane River is intercepted upstream by the Wivenhoe dam, forming the Wivenhoe Lake, which is the main water source of the city of Brisbane at present. The river was named after explorer John Oxley (John Oxley), who was named after Sir (Sir Thomas Brisbane), the governor of New South Wales in 1823. Brisbane's sightseeing city cat swam along the river's central business district. The port of Brisbane manages large freighters entering Brisbane River from the bay.
