There is either lots to do or you can do nothing but laze! You can take a stroll along the beach or head for breakfast at Osteria Cafe/Restaurant (open for breakfast and lunch7 days a week and dinner Wednesday to Sunday), or walk to Cabarita (Southern end of the beach) and spot the water dragons, wallabies, rabbits and other wildlife on the way. If feeling energetic you can also hire bikes for your stay in Cabarita and ride the superb path all the way up the beach and into Kingscliff. Casuarina is relatively secluded place, as it is on a strip of land that fronts onto the beach one side and a national park on the other, perfect if you crave peace and quiet. However, when you are ready for some action it is only 35 minutes from Byron Bay and 40 minutes from Dreamworld, sea world etc. and situated 20 mins drive from Gold Coast Airport and 1hr 10 minutes from Brisbane. Shopping and restaurants are nearby the new Casuarina Village only 3 blocks down the road has a Coles, Takeaway Pizza and other outlets. Cabarita is a 3-minute drive away (Woolworths and surf wear shopping), as is Salt Village with its wide variety of restaurants and Day Spas for a bit of pampering. Kingscliff is just 10 minutes away and has supermarkets and lots of eating places plus a cinema. It＇s a great place to chill out and surf but still be within access of places to indulge yourself.
