Smithton (Smithto) is a coastal town on the northwest coast of Tasmania, about 400km by car from Horbart, the capital of Tasmania, and about 20km from Stanley (Stanley), a town with a peculiar "dried fruit (The Nut)" landscape.
Smithton位于达克河（Duck River）的入海口，经济上以农牧渔业为主，常住人口近4000人，是塔岛西北部的中心城镇，但因位置较偏远，且不在常规的塔岛环岛旅游线路上，所以游客并不多。
