Longreach is a small inland town in central Queensland, about 1170 kilometers from Brisbane, Queensland's capital.
Located on the edge of (Thomson Rive) on the Tomason River, Longreach is geographically the heart of Queensland inland. Longreach has a long history as one of the birthplaces of the Australian airline (Qantas), at Longreach airport in (Longreach),. It has one of Australia's earliest aircraft repair stores, which is still in use and has been listed as an Australian national heritage.
