U.S. President Trump Friday (July 31) announced a ban on TikTok. in the U.S. of the international version of China's short video app, which is believed to have security problems

Reuters exclusive news on saturday quoted two insider as saying the parent company, byte beat, had agreed to withdraw completely from TikTok business in the united states in the hope of reaching a deal with the white house.

Under the scheme, after all byte beat exits, microsoft will take over TikTok u.s. business, save and manage all u.s. user data, and allow another u.s. company other than microsoft to take over TikTok u.s. business. Some u.s.-based byte beat investors may have a chance to gain a minority stake.

The White House has yet to respond. Neither beijing's byte jump nor microsoft commented. Before the White House rejected byte beat proposed to hold a minority stake TikTok the United States.

TikTok U.S. General Manager Vanessa Peppas (Vanessa Pappas) released a video statement Saturday saying TikTok have long-term plans & quot;. in the U.S .& quot; She also told users that the company was developing & quot; the safest software & quot;.

U.S. President Trump thinks TikTok should be banned

The British Broadcasting Corporation technology news editor Leo Kellyn (Leo Kelion) took stock of several possible blocking methods in the United States.

Software removal

The most direct and obvious way is to get Google and Apple to stop pulling the software off their shelves in their respective software stores.

And that may require adding the quiver's parent byte beat (Bytedance) to the Commerce Department's list of entities that prohibit U.S. companies from doing business with it. A similar approach to dealing with Huawei.

This method can ensure that no new users download shaking software.

Blocked servers

Google and apple may hate using this method to control users' smartphones, and may even refuse to execute the directive.

If so, there is a simpler way to order local Internet service companies to ban quiver servers.

Another benefit of this is that the video on the shaking website can not be viewed.

India used this method when blocking the software of quiver and some other Chinese companies. Users reported that the ban was not even Virtual Private Network.

Local ban

But what India can do is not necessarily what the US president can do.

As a result, there is a less determined practice of banning U.S. government civil servants from installing chatter on working phones.

The House has passed the bill, but the Senate is still evaluating it.

And the problem is that this approach is not as big as Trump president suggests.

government interventions

There is also a way to veto a byte-beat acquisition of Musical.ly software companies through the Foreign Investment Committee (Cifus) under the Ministry of Finance. The latter user has been transferred to the shaking system in 2108.

Cifus have the right to assess M & A transactions that may constitute a threat for US national security. Because byte beat did not apply for approval by the committee when it proposed the acquisition bill, the launched an investigation into the transaction the following year after the transaction was completed ,2019.

If the Cifus finally decides to reject the transaction, it can order the byte beat to stop providing services in the United States.

It is not clear whether the U.S. branch of the new parent company can continue its business, perhaps with a new brand. Microsoft may be considered more reliable in protecting user data.

Some circles have even given new names to the U.S. after changing portals, such as Microsoft Teens, corresponding to Microsoft Teams software. Microsoft did not comment.
