Every once in a while, there will be news of crime cases, which makes people freaking out. Today, the editor will take stock of the security situation in all the major areas of Sydney for everyone!
1. Lack of peace in the urban area
The city of Sydney and its surroundings are the places where students are most concentrated. In addition to the prestigious University of Sydney and Sydney University of Science and Technology, as for all kinds of language schools, vocational training colleges and pre-university classes, there are many. Police have conducted safety talks at nearly 30 international schools in Sydney. Owing to high population density and mobility, the security situation in the area, especially at night, is not satisfactory.
As far as this area is concerned, the majority of international students live in places such as CBD,Ultimo,Waterloo,Surry Hills and Darlinghurst, with high incidence rates in the city centre from the Central railway station to the vicinity of Winyard and the Ultimo,Darlinghurst area.
Some reports have revealed that there are gang operations in the area of World Square and Chinatown and other places. In March, the younger brother of South Korean star Lee Dong-kin was stabbed to death downstairs in World Square, with rumours that the culprit was a gangster. The explosion of the Ultimo chicken store a few months ago led to the evacuation of thousands of Chinese students in the middle of the night. Just a few days ago, another Chinese student was stabbed several times in Chinatown. There are relatively few cases of violence in Zetland,Rosebery,Camperdown,MoorePark and Alexandra. In terms of robbery rates, the south to the north of Waterloo, to circular quay, are high incidence areas.
Chippendale,Surry Hills and Redfern are the areas with the highest levels of burglary, including Waterloo, which is also a high-incidence area for burglary. Of all the injuries, between 6 p.m. on Friday and 6 a.m. on Saturday and from Saturday to Sunday morning, the number of cases was several times higher than the rest of the time.
2. Nexi weekend night away from the station
The inner west of Sydney, mainly including Ashfield,Burwood and Strathfield, is popular with Chinese communities because of its convenient transportation and consumption, and many Asian and European immigrants have settled here.
According to the Bureau of Statistics, the incidence of murder cases in the Inner West is low, with no more than two cases per year for the past five years. The annual incidence of robbery is more than 500 cases, and since 2003, there is a trend of slight decrease year by year. One point to mention is that on the premise that the incidence of all types of crimes is relatively low, the number of burglaries in the Inner Western District is relatively high, reaching more than 2400 in 2003 and relatively low in 2007. There are still more than 1800 injuries and robberies, mostly from Saturday afternoon to midnight, near the railway station, especially on the south side.
Burwood`s injuries were pretty high Thursday night, with nearly 12 percent of the 28 sessions of the week, mostly in Burwood Heights, near the railway station and south, where robberies were highest in the municipal district. Burglary takes place on Monday and Friday mornings, especially on Monday and Friday. Outside the railway station and near Strath field, large areas of residential property are frequented by thieves.
As for Strathfield, there have been two murders since 2003, and there have been no similar cases in the next five years. City Hall area, around the railway station and near the Homebush West is a high incidence of attacks.
3. Southern District beware of burglary
Relatively speaking, Rockdale is one of the more special areas in the southern region. Over the past five years, the southern district has accounted for about half of the five murders a year on average. But Rockdale accounts for only about 300 of about 1500 assaults a year in the southern region. The most important feature of Southern District is the high rate of burglary. Although there is a trend of decreasing year by year, more than 3000 related cases still occur each year.
Hurstville is the region with the largest proportion of Chinese people in Australia. In 0506, there were three fatalities and about 300 injuries a year, concentrated around the Hurstville,Beverlly Hills and Penshurst railway stations. The first two places are relatively high rates of robbery, accounting for the majority of nearly 100 armed and armed robberies each year. According to the 2006 crime data, Auburn`s injuries were concentrated on the south side of the train station, with Lidcombe and Olympic Park also high-incidence areas, mostly in the afternoon and evening.
As for the deaths of Bankstown, in the past five years, there are also up to 15 fatalities, nearly 2000 burglaries of various types, more than 1,000 injuries a year and more than 300 robberies. Bankstown injuries are concentrated around the railway station and near the Reversby station, together with the Yagoona Motor Show and Chester Hill. Constitutes an area with a high incidence of robbery.
5. Areas with high crime rates may also be the most suitable to live in.
The report of the New State Crime Statistics and Research Bureau from 2013 to 2015 investigated "violent crime", i.e. murder, motor vehicle theft and burglary, resulting in the highest crime rate in the most livable regions.

Retail, catering, nightlife and convenient transportation make certain areas habitable, but they are also more densely populated and have higher crime rates. Sedgman points out that housing in these areas is densely populated, leading to higher crime rates.
